The JAC Games

The Schedule for the 2026 JAC Games: (Sequence of events is subject to change)

Start time: 10:00am - Everyone arrives and gets registered for the day events. 

Competition start time: 10:30am 

Competition 1 - Archery

( Before entering the woods, they will have an Archery challenge, scores will be recorded)

Competition 2 - Shelter Building

(They will have 2.5 hours to complete a shelter)

Competition 3 - Hunting (Large "Game")

( This challenge will be revealed on the day of the event)

Competition 4 - Hunting (Small "Game")

(This challenge, they will need to "shoot" a "rabbit" and keep it dry  and be graded on their shot at the Fire Starting Challenge)

Competition 5 - First Aid Emergency

(They will come upon a hiker, lost and with a "broken" leg. They will have to mend the break and take care of the injured hiker, the remainder of the competition)

Competition 6 - Emergency Signal for help

(Without using fire, they will need to signal down a canoe in the lake to come to their location)

Competition 7 - Orienteering 

(There will be 2 courses set up, each team member will have to each do a course. But do they leave their injured person alone, or take turns?)

Competition 8 - Fire Starting

(If provincial regulations allow, a fire will be made and food prepared. They will also present their bunny "kill" to the judges here, and also any wild medicinal plant or food they found)

Competition 9 - Water Filtration 

(This competition they will need to prepare a water filtration device, filter some lake water and drink it)

Competition 10 - Distance Shooting 

(How well can they shoot from a distance?)

Competition 11 - Knot Tying

(This will be a challenge. This knot tying exercise will include carrying someone.)
